How can someone be so heartless!!!

I don't understand how someone can be so heartless!!! So, my husband and I lost our daughter a year ago at 37 weeks. Of course we had already had our baby shower and had everything for her. Well the night we lost her a couple we thought were our friends helped my in laws pack up her stuff and offered to let us put her things in their building as long as we needed to. We just found out tonight that she took all of our daughter's things and "donated" them!!! And to top it off, she did it 3 months ago!!! I am just as much hurt as I am pissed!! You're not a friend to someone if you cam do that to them!! What can I do?? Idk if I cam press charges or anything!! Please help me!!
