Cutting my hair

I have really long hair and i feel like i use it as a cover up to hide things that im insecure about. But recently i think i should cut it and starting loving myself for who i am. Im just worried it will look bad and thay ill regret it. This is my hair now im thinking of cutting it to my shoulder blades.
