More diversity for models?

Question

Do you think there should be more diversity for models? Not just in race and the color of someone's skin, but also things such as weight, height, facial/other features? Such as a handicapped person, or someone with dwarfism? Or someone with a face/body shape that isn't seen as ideal? Or do you think there should still be some limits for how models should be?

There's different agencies that cater to different lols. There have been plenty of models discovered that absolutely don't fit the "model look" there's like 4 black models with that skin condition that changes their skin color. Theres an albino model even. I think the unique looks end up in more high fashion editorials rather than our daily commercials or magazines.

I think more artist use unique and diverse looking bodies and races it makes for great shoots. My brother was in the modeling industry, it all depends on the photographer, at the end of the day they're the artist.

I don't pay attention enough to care. Only thing I will say, is that models should be allowed a regular diet. I remember watching a video a few years go on VS models, and they could only eat certain foods and worked out like 4-6 hours a day.

They're working on it which is great. I've seen models with Down syndrome, skin disorders, acne, and models on the heavier side. I read an article the other day that in France outlawed the use of unhealthy models who are underweight and the encouragement of anorexia or bulimia. I found a PBS article from April 4, 2015 which gives a better explanation.
Also, the websites he's to talking about are called Pro-Ana websites and they are truly disturbing. There's a UK documentary on YouTube that follows a few regular girls with anorexia that use these Pro-Ana websites and its absolutely terrifying. Its called Thin Club and its about 50 minutes long for anyone who's interested.

Yes! A lot of clothes don't even look good on standard models anyway so the wholebut they need to sell clothes argument doesn't really apply.

Its all about  what will appeal to the specific  item  they are trying to sell.
Some lines have started including  other body types and facial  features. But ultimately its what  would  sell their product.
