Ear Infection Remedies?

Does anyone know any home remedies for getting rid of an ear infection, I was using ear drops but then my aunt showed me how she would use warm sweet oil when she was younger and it would completely take away her ear aches but she doesn't know if that will wipe out an infection.. it definitely is soothing but I'm so sick and tired of my ear hurting. I was sick right before this so I've still been taking antibiotics which are supposed to help but it still just feels so bad especially at night I can't sleep from the pain.
