Blood clots

I'm 17 days postpartum and I suddenly felt a drop in my pad - I went to check and I had a massive dark blood clot the size of a golf ball in my pad. It was so heavy and dense and now I'm really worried. So far I've had continual bleeding and thicker blood flows but never a massive clot like that. Is this normal?
