He's fussy with the sitter

Valerie
I've had my sitter since my son was three months old. He's now almost 8 months old. Other than my husband and myself, she's been the only person he likes being around (admittedly we don't socialize very often and he's fairly clingy). Lately he's been giving the sitter a really hard time. He cries a lot with her, fights naps, throws stuff, and is overall pretty grumpy. When my husband walks into the room (my husband is home a lot while she's there) he lights up and is happy. As soon as my husband leaves he freaks out again. When I come home from work he's happy. On the weekends he is happy and although he sometimes fights naps, he usually goes down pretty easy. I have NO suspicion that my sitter is mistreating him in any way. She's great with him. I assume this is just a separation anxiety thing. I just feel bad because she's with him 35 hours a week and he's giving her hell. She looks totally defeated when I come home from work. How long does this phase last? I don't want to have to find another sitter if she gets too tired of dealing.
