how long does your newborn nurse for?

My baby girl is 8 days old and will nurse every 2-3 hours, sometimes longer at night. What's concerning me is that she only nurses for 10-15 minutes and then she unlatches and isn't interested anymore. Is she getting enough? I'm scared she isn't getting the hind milk.

Babies tummies are the size of a bead. It can only handle so much at a time. Hence feeding often. As long as she's not losing and she's gaining it's fine. To put your mind at ease speak to your pediatrician.

Every baby is different some nurse for hours others nurse for 10min. As long as baby is gaining weight n has the right number of wet/dirty diapers she is fine. Also make sure poopy diapers r yellow and seedy. Green means she isn't getting enough fat which lactation consultant told me if u get green diapers you can massage ur boobs before baby eats and that will mix some fat in.

Don't worry. She's getting enough.  Newborn's tummies  are tiny. My son went through times of nursing only 15-20 min to sometimes nursing for 45 min while sleeping. If she's hungry, she'll cry and be fussy.
