So this is a little TMI but I really need some advice. So I've been having really bad itching and irritation in the vaginal area for over a month now. When it first started, naturally I thought it was a yeast infection, so I got the one day Monistat and it didn't help. I then tried the 3 day treatment which no results happened with that. I called my doc and she prescribed me 3 difulcan pills which I was to take one every 3-4 days until symptoms were gone or until I ran out of pills. So I did that, and still nothing! Constant itching and so irritated. I tried not to scratch as best as I could but it was hard not to which has caused it to be very raw and red. I've been tested for yeast and BV during this and that came back negative. I was also tested for STDs which was also negative. I went to the hospital (where I had the wet prep testing for those things mentioned above) and the ER doc gave me a shot of antibiotic and a pill antibiotic to treat for possible STDs (results wouldn't be back for 2 days at the time) still nothing. I went back again a few days later as my doc office was booked and I couldn't get in right away, and that ER doc gave me the flagyl, saying that even tho I tested negative for BV before doesn't really mean that's not what it is. So a few days ago I finished the flagyl and I'm STILL having the same symptoms. The itching is so bad I can't sleep and a lot of discharge mostly clear but has an odor. I'm just at a loss as to what could be causing all this. I can't get in to my doc until next week, so I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar and could give me an idea of what this is or anything I can do for it until I can see my doc. Also, I've tried itching wipes ( which burn like crazy) desitin ( does nothing) and hydrocortisone cream (helps on contact but stops after a minute or 2) so I can't find any relief.
