I only pretend I'm on the phone when I'm walking alone at night or if I feel uncomfortable for my safety during the day. I usually actually call someone though.

My boyfriend will call me or someone so he doesn't have to talk to anyone when he shops and I'll act like I'm texting to not be stopped by ppl

I do it when passing by nosy people that are friends with the family, so I don't have to talk to them.
