Should i consider adoption? I have been TTC for 10 years, have PCOS and do not ovulate. I can't have fertility treatment due to my weight, can't lose weight due to the PCOS. I'm almost 30 and wondering if it's time to move on?

I'm 30 too. There is still time. I've lost over 65 lb using the Weight Watchers program and it has really helped to improve my symptoms. I'm not insulin resistant, which I know makes it a struggle. Don't give up. You can always do the adoption process along with the TTC and lifestyle changes. Focus on your health so you can have a healthy family. No matter how your family happens, your kiddos will be the most loved, wanted kiddos ever.

I also have PCOS and am 32 when I got pregnant. All I did was healthy eating and regular walks. Eating healthy I felt was the most important thing.

I'm 34 and tried 12 years. On clomid etc for many of those. I am currently pregnant with #1 and am 32 weeks. 4th round of letrozole. Keep faith and keep trying! I also have pcos.

I am with you TTC13 years I finally ovulated after taking medication and in my 2nd round of Clomid I finally ovulated. I am in so much shock mode. 2 days straight I got my LH positive please don't loose hope this was major for me.

I'm 31, TTC, PCOS, high BP, and few other things that are working against me. I've lost weight using the Weight Watchers app, increase water intake and walked (can't run) 30 minutes 5 days a week. I've lost >50 lbs so far.  I'm not saying it was easy because it's not. It's hard work, it's a lifestyle.  Just take it one day at a time. I'm not giving up and you shouldn't either!!!

I have PCOS and struggled for years to lose weight. I was also hypothyroid, almost never had periods and when I did would have them for three months. I am anemic and was prediabetic.

I joined Weight Watchers 7 months ago, and got the book "8 Steps to Reverse Your PCOS." With a combo of Weight Watchers, a prescription thyroid pill, supplements and watching some specific things in my diet, I've lost 56 pounds so far, my thyroid levels are normal, have had consistent periods the last five months, and, while still anemic, my iron is slowly going up.

It's been hard, but it's possible. We've been TTC for 4 years, but I now have real hope.

Have you tried acupuncture? I have pcos and 3 months ago went for my day 21 blood test for my progesterone to be at 0.3. After my second month I did the day 21 test again and my progesterone went up to 27.5. Although it's still not where it needs to be I'm feeling hopeful that my hormones are correcting themselves through acupuncture. I never used to get any signs of ovulation and I think this was because I wasn't ovulating (although I had pretty regular periods) however now I'm starting to get twinges. Usually they say that you'll start to see the benefits of acupuncture after 3 months. My acupuncturist has managed to help women that have been told they cannot have children. Think it's defo worth looking into. Good luck x

This is an odd poll. I answered adopt but that doesn't mean I think you should stop trying. My husband and I have tried for almost 3 years, with two miscarriages, have starting fertility treatments but if we don't get pregnant within the next year, we are going to start the foster-adopt process. I don't tend to ovulate on my own either or I ovulate before my eggs are mature enough to fertilize properly. I also have PCOS and was diagnosed 13 years ago. I didn't respond to Clomid but I respond well to Femara and now I also trigger with Ovidrel. I'm trying to be optimistic but sometimes I catch myself looking at the website of children up for adoption. No one can tell you what to do. Only you can make the best decision for you. Your doctors can tell you odds but even that's a guess. Good luck and I hope you take the path that results in your forever happiness.

We've been TTC for 9 years and working on/waiting for an international adoption for 5 years at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive you can do both.
Adoption can be a really long process and can be expensive. And there are a lot of potential complications both pre and post adoption. If it's something you're interested, then it doesn't hurt to educate yourself. 
It might be right for your family and it might not. But don't look at as giving up, because that's really not fair to any child you might potentially adopt. They shouldn't be seen as the second best option.
