What are some good toys for newborns- 3 months old?

Does anyone have any recommendations for toys for newborns through 3 months old? I'm currently pregnant and I want to buy a few toys for my baby to play with when he is a newborn or a couple of months old.

I have the Fisher Price kick and play mat with the piano. He LOVES it. Began playing with it at 3 weeks and now at 4 months he STILL loves it

The best thing for newborns are black and white toys close to their faces. It helps stimulate them. The therapists in the hospital in nicu had all kinds for the kids :)

Plainly speaking newborns cant play with toys at all. And can barely see. What our daughter LOVED was black and white cloth books that could be folded out. She would stare at them for ages! Think they were like £7 on amazon. We got her books she could take in the bath as well. Other than that your new borns favourite thing is most likely that be your face! And boob ofc xb

In the beginning, my daughter only used an activity mat/gym. Once she could grasp things, go for soft things. I bought a lot of more plastic toys and she kept wacking herself in the face with it as she was leaving to grab and hold things. These are some of my favorites. The blocks, teething blanket, and clip on book all make that crinkle noise which my daughter loves.

We bought this one (I'm sort of crazy about having gender neutral *things* so they a) match our interior a little better and b) can be used for our kids in the future when we have more! *not that a boy couldn't use a pink playmat or something)

The baby whoozit has always been a hit with my kids at that age. I always gift it to new mom friends.

my son LOVES this. he never wants to put it down. they're kind of old, been around since my mom was a kid at least, and helps advance baby's developmental skills and gross motor skills

We were given an orange kitty (from ikea) that rattles and a wrist monkey rattle. Our son loved these noises.
