Working at Subway

Is there anyone here that is a current or former subway artist at subway ? What exactly are the job duties that you do every day ? (I'm aware that they're on the job listing, but would like to hear from others!). Do you really need to memorize all the sandwiches and if you do then what helped you ? Please leave great detail and how much you were getting paid per hour! I'm seeing some people mention that they were getting paid about $9.30/hr., but I could have sworn that I seen subways in my area pay $11.50/hr on job listings. Maybe experience based ? Who knows ? Also, how do you handle multitasking and rush hour and the pressure that comes with it ?

I've worked at Subway since I was a junior in high school and I got paid 8.50 when I turned 18 and then got bumped to 8.90 a couple months later. Memorizing subs seems daunting, but is a lot easier after a while. And as others have commented, it does involve cutting onions, tomatoes, green peppers and cucumbers regularly. You also will be prepping other sub ingredients, which is usually just transferring them from the bag they came in to the containers that go on line. It's a pretty easy and simply job. The only thing that continues to piss me off is mean and annoying customers but after awhile you can smile nicely to their face and apologize will flipping them off behind your back.

I worked at Subway for almost a year. I started at 8.10 then bumped up to 8.25. Weekly pay. Yes you have to learn the sandwiches but it's way easier than you think. Most customers just pick and choose what exactly they want on their sandwich. Yes you have to clean and count the register and the line. To me, it was scary because We were short staffed and I was left at the store alone until closing time. The manager was really flexible with my availability. But honestly, It was a very easy job just really rude customers. You start memorizing the "Regulars" Sandwiches.

Wow. I worked at subway for 5 1/2 years. I started making 7.25 and by the time I quit I was at 9.50$. But I helped with the money, prepping in the morning, making subs, cooking bread, literally a little of it all.

i worked at subway for 2 years. you do have to memorize the sandwiches but its honestly easier than you think. you also need to cut the green peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes daily. i made 8.25 and then 8.50 so it might depend on your area but i never made more than minimum wage while working there. you need to know how to count money and use the register, also some nasty cleaning may be required.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I was going to say it might seem like some difficulty in the beginning to remember but as you get to do the sandwiches multiple times you'll get to memorize them more and more while preparing them.
