Is an increased appetite and cravings normal for metformin users?

Please comment anything you know about this. I have been in metformin since nocember and just recently raised my dose from 1 a day to 2 a day in january. Will this change in appetite subside? Will the cravings go away? Maybe i need more nutrition and this is my boys way of telling me?

I was on 500 mg up until today, they decided to go with 1000 mg. I get cravings once in a while, not every day. And when I say cravings, I mean I HAVE to have it, or I get mean..which is weird. :-S

My best friend is pre diabetic and her doctor put her on metformin to help decrease the risk of diabetes.  She was crazy hunger when she first went on it. Now she doesnt crave as much anymore.

My boyfriend was on it & it made his appetite go away.. He also has diabetes & other issues... So not to sure.. Maybe diff for diff people? Sorry not much help lol. Ask your doc. About.it.
