Am I wrong to separate bedroom life from daily life?

My boyfriend and I have a kinky bdsm relationship... in the bedroom only though. In he bedroom he slaps me, calls me his slut and cum whore, soanks me with his belt, chokes me, pulls my hair and a multitude of things that are 'different' than 'normal' sex.

HOWEVER I dont think it's okay for him to do any of these things in a non-sexual way.

Yesterday we got in an argument and he slapped me hard across the face (during sex that would have made me so horny) but because it was out of anger it really just made me sad. He told me "if you want me to be me, the sadistic bastard I am, in the bedroom when it pleases you, why can't I be that same person all the time?" It really upset me that he thought he could slap me in the face in the middle of an argument.

Question: is it wrong to be upset that he's hitting me outside the bedroom?
