Boyfriend problem

I am scared to have sex with my boyfriend. I'm of age and I really like him but I've always like women parts more. I like him and we have all the same interests but I just don't like dick. Should I consider him just my friend until I find out what I like more or just go for it and try it.. any tips on what I should do?
