What should I bring for my dorm?

I moving to college in about a month. I have to start shopping for things to put in my dorm. I have a double room and a loft bed. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm going into my second year of college now. One thing I learned is I brought wayyyyyy too many clothes. Pay attention to what you wear within two weeks and only bring that. Bring a few towels, a desk lamp, an extension cord, those little things you plug into the outlet that gives you more outlet slots, pencils, pens, highlighters, dishes, silverware, mini fridge, microwave, wall decorations.

If you're like me and live out of state, you may want to bring all your clothes because yo using be able to go home often

Make sure not to overpack, especially your clothes. Only bring what you will wear. I would recommend a microwave/mini fridge so you can make yourself some popcorn or small meals in the microwave. A mini fridge is nice to keep your drinks cool. Make sure to bring a fan, as most dorms get hot! If your dorm doesn't come with a desk lamp or trash can, bring one. Then for the rest of things, just make sure you have a few towels, shower flip flops and extra bedsheets/pillow cases! I also forgot to add, if you're going to be doing laundry, check in to see if you have to use quarters for laundry or if it's free!

I'm going on my second year of college and I defs regret bringing most of the stuff I did my first year. I would suggest not bringing all your clothing, you're never going to wear it all (unless you have very little of it). I would also suggest a small area rug bc dorm floors can get cold. For sure some shower shoes and lots of towels. I also recommend some books because they will help during finals when you stress. A fridge and microwave will for sure be needed. Some pictures to put on your wall or a tapestry or something for a little piece of home. I hope you have a good experience!
