Boyfriend accidentally calls me mom, is that normal?

My boyfriend tends to make a Freudian slip where he calls me mom. Is that weird?

I meant to put yes lol I've done that to teachers but never to my partner

How often does it occur? Also I have a background in the cognitive sciences, and Sigmund Freud's oedipus complex does not hold much validity in today's era. I truly believe you have nothing to worry about; especially if you're the only other female with a close relationship with him.

If it was a "Freudian slip", maybe there's a subconscious thing going on in his mind...maybe you nag him? Or maybe he's used to his mom taking care of him and you now take care of him too just as well, so it slipped out.
