Period like cramps?

So I am 14 weeks 5 days and for the few days I've been having cramps that feel like the cramps I get during my period. My lower abdomen closer to my pubic bone is so tender. It almost feels like I've been doing ab crunches. I did speak with my midwife who said that its all normal and the second time around in pregnancy you feel things a lot more worse. Anybody else experiencing this?

It could be round ligament pain. I experienced sharp cramps around the same time as you and was told it's my uterus growing and stretching for baby!

Yup I've had this three different days so far, all within the last couple weeks 14 weeks and up. The first time I was so scared and went to the dr. All was fine and she said it was most likely round ligament pain. Had it yesterday and again today so I just relaxed, laid down and drank lots of water. I think with everything growing and stretching we are bound to feel something like this sometimes! It's a disconcerting feeling though, that's for sure.

I've been getting intermittent cramping in the second trimester. It's a bit concerning, but everything I read says its normal. I just think of it as my little guy growing. I usually try to relax when it's happening.
