How did you ask!?!

Question

I need my husband to take a sperm count test which my doc will let us do at home. The problem I am having is how do I ask him!? I am a straight to the point person so I will most likely just say hey I need you to do this for me. He is just no open yet to maybe it not being just me that has a hard time conceiving. Did any of you go through this!?

He agreed that after blood work Monday if things check out he will get tested. Haha!! I kinda told him the same way. So I need you do take a test for me :)

I just told him hey guess what you're doing next week lol. He can't complain because he knows what I've put my body through on this infertility journey...he does NOT get to complain about having to jerk off lol

Just a warning though...our test got really screwed up from taking the sample at home. My husband ended up having to repeat it in the hospital and he said Yes, it's awkward, but it was much easier just to do it and not have to travel anywhere with it. Just something to thing about.

As my Ob says... it takes 2 to tango. If there isn't anything obviously wrong with you, the next step is to check him out. You have to make sure that A. You can release and egg and create environment for fetus to grow and B. Your husband can fertilize that egg. A lot of the times it's a combination of issues from both male and female that causes issues with pregnancy. Plus, if you do get pregnant as a female our bodies go through a lot. Preparing a semen sample is a lot less painful than child birth and a lot less awkward than having your cervix checked.... I guess what I'm trying to say is let him know that it's nobody's "fault". Infertility is a medical condition that is affected by 2 people.
