Wait or have sex?

I am 20 years old and I am still a virgin. I want to be intimate with someone and I'm just afraid that if I do I might not respect myself for it or that person might leave me. I'm also afraid of all the possibilities of disease and of being pregnant. Do you think I should wait or take a leap of faith? What should I do?

I personally think you should wait. By feeling you may not respect yourself you may not be with the right person. From personal experience i lost it to the wrong guy. I was the same way but easily convinced. I hated myself for it. Don't allow that to happen. When it came to it with my current and long time boyfriend it felt just right. Don't rush to lose it because of your age. If it feels right then go for it.

Girl you waited this long, wait for Mr. Right!!!  Don't just give it away, it's great to do other things and fool around but this is something that is obviously very serious and special to you. If I could do it over again, I would probably be the 40 year old virgin right now!

Its truly a personal decision. That being said, if you are questioning it, then dont do it. You should feel absolutely sure to have sex with someone. "Trust your gut". Really. Its that easy (at least for me). When I decided to have sex for the first time, I was 18 and dating someone who I trusted without hesitation. I knew he was going to make sure I was fully comfortable and okay afterwards. I had come close to losing my virginity prior to this with another guy in high school (like on top ready to go), however it didnt feel "right". Im glad I waited to experience sex for the first time with the guy I did. He and I are still friends after 16 years. Also, if you are worried about pregnancy and other issues (i.e. stds), ask your doctor about birth control, ask the guy you are thinking of having sex with if he has been tested. If the guy questions this, tell him why. Be open with how you are feeling and your apprehension. The person you decide to lose your virginity to, will understand and make sure you are okay. This should  be a great experience. I hope that whatever you decide, you feel absolutely sure about. I hope you enjoy it. Once you do experience it and like it, you won't want to stop. Especially after having an orgasm during sex!

My advice, definetly wait until you are with
someone you love. I lost my virginity to my first boyfriend whom I did not love, I felt pressure into doing it. I wish I could take it back. Virginity is a precious thing, wait until you find that special someone.

Ultimately do whatever feels right. But if you're worried about regretting things then that may be a sign that you still aren't ready, and that's okay. In my opinion, it's best to wait until you are sure about the other person. Having meaningless sex, especially your first time, may be damaging.
