What would you choose?? Flight or driving? Please read explanation

Question

My husband and I have a 3month old son. He is very calm and easy going. Rarely cries. Loves his carseat and loves looking at things. Sleeps for very long periods of time. I pump exclusively. My sister in laws parents can't make it to their vacation in South Carolina and are offering it to people for free since it's no re-fund(I think we'll end up offering to pay for some of the trip) and nobody can make it since it's such short notice. My husband and I look like we are able to. Question is -should we purchase plane tickets and take our son via plane or should we take a car trip? The car trip is 14hrs and we would go during our son's sleep time. We don't mind spending time in the car with some stops/taking a plane with an infant sounds a little scary to me/but taking a plane would give us a good chunk more time actually in south Carolina for the week trip. What would you do?? Thanks.

If you can afford it and if the total time including travel to the airport, going through security and flying is less than 8 hours... I would fly. Good luck!

My LO is also awesome in the car and easy going but I would still rather fly just because it would save time and the stress would be shorter. Plus with pumping, I think that would also be a bigger pain on a road trip then flying.  My opinion though.

I took my daughter on a flight alone, and she did great! I scheduled an early flight so she would be tired, and fed her on the way up and down so her ears wouldn't pop. We did a layover as well! She handled it so well! We also drove home which was a 16 hour drive, and she did pretty great, but it still sucked...there's extra stops, they can't move around, it takes forever,..I would definitely suggest a flight!

I drove 33 hours to Arizona. My daughter was fine with it. It's cheaper to drive than it is to fly

I would fly.

It may be only 14 hours, but with stops to rest, refuel, and eat it can easily add more hours.. plus yall will be beyond exhuasted upon arrival to enjoy your vacation spot.

I would fly but if you are worried about the baby's ears hurting or just being courteous to other flyers and driving works for you, drive:) whichever you think will make your vacation easiest for you and the baby to be comfortable and able to feed, change, so on. Have fun!

I'd fly. But I'd only fly if I was able to purchase a seat for my baby, so they can sleep comfortably and safely in their car seat. I would never take a "lap child" on a plane. It is incredibly risky and I am frankly amazed it is legal.

My LO is 4 mo and has already gone on two trips that required flying (so 4 flights so far). I would much rather fly with him than drive. And he doesn't mind being in the car at all. But I would still much rather fly.

Personally I hate fly, it stresses me out so much especially with kids.

Babies generally do well with flying. My 6month old daughter has flown three times already, at 5months old. And she slept most of the time! Oh I will say getting early morning or late night flights are great because that's when baby is sleeping for the longest stretch of time!
