What is considered late birth control?

I took my birth control pill 30 minutes after I normally do. I have never missed my medicine at the time I take it. Is 30 minutes considered late? Should I use a condom for sex?

No, you'll be fine. You can miss a day and take it with the following pill and still be fine.

Depending on the BC type of pill you have no more than a day late is fine. 30 minutes is no worries at all but if you want to make sure your conscience stays clear do use a condom or even (my favourite) vaginal contraceptive foam. I get it from walmart and its 8 dollars for like 10 or so uses. Its a great pair with BC because you can put it in right before or no more than an hour before.

Depends on if it's a combination pill or a mini pill. If it's a combination pill, you can take it up to 12 hours past your normal time and still not be considered late. Mini pills have a 3 hour range of effectiveness though, so if you take it past that time frame, you have to use backup protection until you've taken it on time for at least a week straight. In either case though, 30 mins is fine :)

Typically it's over an hour that makes you technically late but it really doesnt do much to the effectiveness given you've been on it some time
