does this look like an umbilical hernia?

I noticed my 5 week olds belly button sticks out a bit. It doesn't seem to hurt him when it's touched and I s soft when pressed on. I am going to schedule an appointment with the doctor tomorrow but would like oppinions from people that may have felt with this before.

It looks like it to me. My little sister had it so my mom put a quarter on it and wrapped it with an ace bandage and it went down within days. Just make sure not to wrap it tight and its not under the diaper.

My daughter had one, about three times as bad as that. It naturally resolved itself around 5-6 months. When they start moving around it will sink in. Don't tape anything to it- it's not necessary! Most doctors wouldn't consider surgery before age two, and I am confident your sons will be gone well before then!

Yep that's a umbilical hernia! But most cases close by 1 year of age, if not then surgery is the treatment!

Yes! My little brother had that as a baby/kid went away around 7yo. Now his bellybottum is normal
