I breast fed both my children for about a year each. Period didn't return until after i stopped nursing. It's normal.

I didn't have my first normal period while nursing just one until d.d. was 10mo, had a regular length, regular flow, then before I got the next one I was pregnant lol breastfeeding does affect period cycles though
