First time TTC since November/December

Okay so in August 2016 I got an IUD (Mirena). My fiancé (24) & I (21) decided to try for a baby in early November so I called for an appointment to get the IUD removed on November 21st. My periods have been regular since getting it removed. Have had constant pregnancy symptoms but only to find out I'm not pregnant every time. That has been destroying me emotionally thinking I ruined my body by getting the IUD in the first place. Is this normal after having an IUD? Does having an IUD then getting it removed take longer for a BFP than the pill?
