Is it normal to get little mini periods after your regular expected period?

Regular period: June 25-28

Cramping and significant spotting again: July 1st, July 5th (stained my bedsheets a bit and had to get a tampon)

I've had my mirena iud for two years now but I've never had this happen before. Is it normal for this to happen with the iud? My husband thinks I should see my dr but I've been seeing him a lot lately and don't want to seem like a hypochondriac lol
