How much formula is your 1 year old taking a day?

My son just turned 1 today! He takes just 2 bottles 1 in the morning & 1 at bedtime both are 6oz. He drinks maybe 1-3oz of whole milk a day. Now I understand he isn't getting much milk but he just isn't a huge fan. So I try and give string cheese or yogurt once or twice a day. Should I offer him more bottles? Daycare won't give him a bottle as he is now 1!

My daughter may potentially have an issue with dairy (doc doesn't want to allergy test her till she's 2) so we have been doing almond milk and may switch to soy based on my ped's recommendation, but we have just been careful to get baby's nutrients from food instead until we try re-introducing dairy later on. The big 4 with whole milk is fat, protein, vitamin D and calcium, so I pay special attention to give my girl things with those nutrients. Sauteeing veggies in olive oil or giving butter on her toast (vegan butter in our case but you could do regular) gives her fat. Chicken, soy yogurt for protein. Almond milk is. already a good source of calcium. And vitamin D can be eggs, fish (which is more healthy fat too!) or just going outside for sunshine. I'm sure your LO just has to be use to the taste of milk an he will be fine! Hope these food food examples are helpful ☺ and if you are really concerned you can do toddler formula. Idk if all brands make it but I know Enfamil has one.

Zero we finished up what formula was left at daycare over the weekend. Now he gets his special milk 2x a day and water the rest

Obviously check with your doctor but I asked my doc this same question a few days ago and she said just keep offering but as long as they're eating a well balanced diet that includes yogurt and cheese (calcium) then you should be ok. My girl has been rejecting formula and most of her bottles for a few weeks but loves almond and cow milk. Doc said just roll with it. Haha
