Stopping birth control , irregular periods?

I took off my patch mid week Feb 24th. March 1st, (5 days later) I got a period. Although I had a period previous to that only 7 days before (Feb 18th - 23rd) .. Now my period is supposed to come in 7 Days. I'm cramping and pmsing.. Could my period come a little early, being irregular?
