How Can I Have More Confidence?

I have a very low self esteem. And I mean low. I get very anxious around people even if it's just one person talking to me. I had an abortion a couple years ago and since then I've been carrying around so much shame that I can no longer interact with other ppl. I can't look at ppl in the eye. Please let me know some tips on how I can be more confident. also if you have similar experiences please share.

Ps I grew up in a super religious household. I was always taught abortion is the worse sin one can commit. 😢 no one forced me to have the abortion. It was my choice.

As a Christian, I believe that it is a lie that abortion is the worst sin you can commit. I don't believe there's any "worst" sin, sin is sin. Abortion is hard, it's a tough subject. And I'm sorry you're going through this. 
Have faith that you have been forgiven. You have been made as pure as snow by the savior; God loves you no less.
For confidence: pray. (not sure if you're Christian or not, but this is what I do.) pray that God will give you strength and courage to face the world. Pray that he will give you wisdom to see what is true and what is a lie.
You have the power to be confident, to be strong and powerful. I believe in you.
I will be praying for these things also.

First thing I would recommend is counseling of some sort. It doesn't have to be face to face, but if you can build up to that it would help. A counselor should be able to help you work through your shame and help you develop the ability to cope with it, which would then in turn lead into dealing with your anxiety. Counselors are a wonderful resource and can really do wonders. Also remember, you've had a lifetime of feeling like crap about yourself. It's going to take time to break those bad habits. Some days are going to be better than others. Sometimes you'll relapse and feel like garbage. That's okay. You are human, and recovery isn't a straight line. You will get there in your time.
