C section after bad tear??

Question

I had a third degree tear from my son (vaginal birth) and still have issues from it therefore am opting for a c section. I am terrified. I was in horrible pain from my tear for a full 8 weeks though and he is almost a year and I still have issues so I know it's right for me even if I feel a little selfish. But has anyone else experienced both a bad tear then c section and can compare for me. If not just maube explain the pain of c section??

My experience with c-sections is when they tell you afterwords to stand up just stand strait up and get it over with. You will be sore but it is better than staying in the hospital longer!!

I had an emergency c section with my 1st I choose to do it natural 2nd time even tho my consultant kept trying to talk me out it but I ended up with a 3rd degree tear was horrible but an amazing experience.. I am pregnant with my 3rd & been told I need to have a section again this time .. x

C section pain to me felt like muscle pain after a hard workout then trying to move. If you keep on your meds then the pain doesn't get to a point if not functioning. It's like trying to function without an muscles

Is a c section an option? My hospital won't do them unless you've already had one or if it's medically necessary. C section recovery wasn't that bad, but my tummy has ripples where the scar is due to infection and I will never be completely flat there again. Makes tight clothes and bathing suits look funny. At least with a tear, you can hide the issues.

I've never had a vaginal tear but let me just tell you a little about my c-section. It wasn't planned, and I had had no prior pain meds cause I was planning to go natural. It was an emergency situation. When I woke up, I was shaking uncontrollably, my vision was so blurry I couldn't see anything even in front of me, my throat was so sore (I guess they stuck a tube down my throat) and I was hemorrhaging really badly. I know all of this was because of the surgery but, I was in so much pain! I didn't get any sort of relief until a few minutes after they hooked up the morphine. I felt as though I had been torn into two separate pieces. I couldn't move, nor did I try until they took my catheter out (which also doesn't feel too good.) I couldn't change my own child's diaper for several days, I could barely lift him, laughing was incredibly painful, walking or moving of any kind, not fun. Think about it, they have to cut through your ABS to get the baby out. You need your abdominal muscles for everything! You don't know it until it is incredibly painful to use them. 
The hospital sent me home with more pain meds but even at my 6 week check up, I needed a refill because I was still in pain! I couldn't wear jeans longer than 2 hours until my son was 4 months old. I STILL get pain from my incision! My son is 9.5 months old! I would not wish to ever do that again. 
Talk to your doctor. I think the odds of having another tear, at least that bad, are very slim.

Honestly for me people maid it to be worse that is was so I was terrified when I had to have an emergency c-section so don't read that far into it or you will psych yourself out.

The recovery itself was hell. My stomach is ruined(scar is tight, creating a pooch) but after about 2 months my muscles and everything mostly felt fine. Your tear sounds horrendous.
