Copper IUD

Lauren

I'm considering getting a viper IUD. I have type one diabetic (no, it's not the kind you get from eating too much sugar or being overweight) and hormone BC messes with my blood sugar levels way too much to be worth it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little more about their experiences. Last time I went to my OBGYN she said that my cervix was positioned perfect for an exam, so would this help with the insertion of the IUD? How badly does it hurt? In used to some pain due to multiple injections because of my diabetes so I'd say my pain threshold is pretty good. I get pretty sever cramps during my period, enough that I get prescribed anti inflammatory pills, so is that the kind of feeling I should expect? Does it hurt just at time of insertion of for days/weeks? How common is spotting? Can you feel the actually IUD after insertion? I really don't know much about them and I'm just looking for as much info as possible!
