Hey girls, I was curious: which of you have ever dated a guy who has messaged you on facebook or social media (not tinder or a dating site) and how did it end? Are you still together? Did he ever cheat? I would like to know your experiences!

Examples of what the man/boy may have messaged you would be things like:
-hey pretty lady/sexy/beautiful
-you have a nice body
-wow you're gorgeous in that pic

So if you've gotten things like this and dated the guy, how did it turn out?

Okay story time!!!!
So I met both of my girlfriends over discord (its kinda like a chatroom app for those of you tthat haven't heard of it). We were all in a public server for a show we all enjoyed. Well me and my first girlfriend, Jane (my first partner ever) started dming. and within 2 days we were together. We had talked at length a few other times but over those 2 days we really fell for each other hard. 
Three months later we both admitted we had crushes on another friend of ours, Manduša. And we decided to ask her out as well. Now its a very long distance poly relationship (I'm in America, Jane is in Germany, and Manduša is Slovenian) but its been amazing. Jane and I have been together for nearly 7 months and we've been with Manduša for 4. And its been the happiest months for all of us. All because we happened to join a server for a show about a bunch of nerdy voice actors playing dungeons and dragons. 
Tldr don't underestimate people you meet online or in dms. But still be careful.

My ex and I met on MySpace way back in 2003. He made a comment about how my ass looked good. We hit it off and were together for 3.5 years (he was there when i was diagnosed with stage II papillary thyroid cancer, sticking by my side through surgery amd treatment). One day I came home and he told me he wasnt in love with me anymore. I flipped out and moved my things out the next day. That was that. He was my first adult relationship. I resented him for such a long time. However 10 years later, Im appreciative of the relationship and what Ive learned from it. He is married now as am I. I wish him the best.

Me and my boyfriend started talking through Facebook, but it wasn't any pickup lines or cheesy shit. It was basically hi, hey, and talking about movies/music etc, which turned into him asking me out on a date. We're still together - Our first date was in October 2015.

Me and my boyfriend knew who each other were but we never talked and one day he randomly poked me (back when you still poked on Facebook lol) and we just kept poking each other back and forth for like a week lmao and then he messaged me saying I wasn't going to win this poke war and then went on to tell me that I was really pretty! 
We cheated on each other in the beginning but now, 5 years later we live together and we're expecting our first baby in October! Lol

My friend was trying to set me up and my now husband.  My SO added me on facebook and after a few weeks I messaged him and asked him to breakfast just to get the meet-n-greet over with so I could tell my friend "no".  Well, obviously it worked out! :). We blame the breakfast place and our mutual love of dogs.  Haha!
