Does Castor oil actually work?

Oh my god... don't do it... I was young (20-21) with our first and stupidly tried castor oil to get labor started... all I did was give myself the worst case of diarrhea and hemrroides

Don't take castor oil. It can make the baby poop in the womb and can cause severe complications

Castor oil only brings on contractions. If you are not dilated or effaced eventually the contractions will go away.
Also, not worth rotten taste, nausea and diarrhea it will cause.
