When will you give your baby a blanket to sleep/nap?

They tell you not to but never tell you when it becomes okay. When did or will you give your baby a blanket to sleep?

My son was around a year when I started using one. That is the minimum age they recommend as well. There is no reason a baby needs a blanket before then. It isn't worth it.

My son always had a blanket. The blanket was tucked in firmly to all the sides and bottom of the bassinet mattress. Once he was in a crib I did the same thing. He slept at the bottom of the crib so I could tuck the blanket in. Even when he started rolling the blanket stayed tucked in nicely. His drs said it was fine

We let her have blankets to sleep with at night when she turned one. She wasn't comfortable at night without it. Just a small baby blanket. She's fine.

Someone I know just had their child die from using a blanket, they were a few months old.

It's winter her in Australia, and my baby girl has had a blanket over her (swaddled tightly) since day one. I only put it up to her armpits and I tuck it in under her bassinet mattress and now her cot mattress. We've not had any problems with it.
