Most ladies actually get their surge during the day which is why fertility Drs recommend testing twice daily because it's so easily missed if you don't.

Usually not, also because early morning is a peak. Doubt that afternoon will be different.

The test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line. It looks pretty close though
