PCOS and Provera?

Question

Anyone been prescribed Provera with having PCOS? I was just diagnosed a couple of months ago with PCOS and was prescribed Provera- I started taking it Friday and still haven't gotten my period. Wondering if any of you ladies have had any luck with this starting your cycle?

I was also just diagnosed with PCOS and have secondary amenorrhea. I just finished my first round of Provera. Took it for 7 days, got AF 3.5 days after the last pill.

I took it for a while but I've been able to control mine with vitamins, diet and exercise. Haven't missed a cycle in over a year!

Hi I was prescribed twice. Provera induced AF came 3 days after the last pill that was in May this year. I was also prescribed Provera June-last month & had my AF 8 days after the last pill. So it does vary 😄

It took me three try’s with this medicine and  I finally got my period on my own this month so I’m super ecstatic and ready to try to get pregnant

I take Provera for 10 days, my period usually starts 2-5 days after the last pull, but they say it could take up to 2 weeks.

I have been diagnosed with pcos for almost a year now but they think I may havr haf ut for a lot longer undiagnosed. I took provera for about 6 months and it worked wonders for me. I originally started out with one med then went to provera and femara because I didnt like the side effects of the first med. it does take time. it took me 6 months to get everything leveled out and such with it being taken monthly....so give it time. I do know that a healthy diet does help as well because sugars and such can throw off the balance of what the med is trying to help with.

Can you update how it worked for you? I quit birth control early june and then went 5 mths with no period (pcos) as i expected would happen. My doc put me on provera for 14 days but my period started on the 12th day. Also took clomid but im not sure yet if Im going to ovulate
