Breast feeding question??

Question

Anyone who already has their newborn can answer me some questions i have??
I wanted to know if u wake up ur newborn in the night if soo how many time how often in hour do u wake him or her up??
How many time do u breast feed?
*during the night or day!!
I wanting to know anything u can tell me or advice me abt breast feeding bc my desicion is to breast feed my baby when born would be very helpful if i get a head start on any information a can get! !!!

During the day I make sure to feed every 2 to 3 hours, during the night I wouldn't wake him he usually wakes up on his own... try and get as much sleep as u can and don't worry urself sick with staying on a very 2 to 3 hour schedule... last night he slept for 5 hours be4 waking up to eat... I'm grateful for those hours .... my son is only 7 days old... He's pretty much pee poop ear and sleep wake up and repeat. Swaddling helps a lot too, they can teach u how to in the hospital.

With my two kids, I fed on demand (so when they got fussy and hungry) but didn't let them go more than 2 hrs. My daughter did not want to wake up to feed at night. I would tickle her and take her swaddle off, but she was still too tired. I finally started putting a wet wash cloth on her feet to keep her awake. After checking with the pediatrician, he ok'd her to sleep through the night if she still ate enough during the day. My son was the opposite. He wanted to eat all day and all night. I was feeding every 20 mins, but we found out he had a protein intolerance and was constantly eating because his tummy hurt. You'll know if the baby is getting enough if it is gaining weight and your pediatrician will help track that.

My nurse told me that they can go up to 4 hours without eating. So if he's sleep, let him sleep but no longer then 4 hours

My baby is 6 days old and on a combination of formula and boob because I had an emergency c section and had a very bad recovery we had to start her on formula. Now I'm pumping milk cause she won't latch on my nipple. I never wake her to eat. She wakes when she's hungry and never even screams or cries. Just moans a bit. My breasts are not starting to pump more and I'm starting to stock up on milk. I hope that tomorrow she will be only on moms milk the whole day. I should tell u tho that she sleeps quite a bit, sometimes 6 hours. When she feeds she drinks a lot too. She's a very calm baby and never cries so I assume she's happy with our set up. I guess like someone else said, don't wake a sleeping baby, they tell u when they're hungry. I have a friend whose baby constantly wants the boob and she's starting to go crazy cause she can't get anything done and when he's on her boob he sleeps and as soon as she takes him off he screams. In such a case I would much rather just pump milk and not have a baby attached to me all the time. That's enough to drive anyone crazy. Good luck and just learn as u go. U will see what ur baby prefers and how he schedules himself.

The first week I was home with my first son I'd wake him up and try to feed, he was way too tired. Went to his first pediatrician appointment and doc yelled at me and said "you never wake up a sleeping baby to eat" he'll wake up when he's hungry. Every baby is different, my son would wake up every 3-4hrs to eat.

My son is a week old now, so I'm not that experienced, but I feed my son on demand. He never goes longer than 3 hours without getting fussy. The most important thing is that he is gaining weight. My pediatric weight check appointments have been a life saver for me.

I'm breastfeeding #7 We feed on demand, she wakes up a few times a night, gets a fresh tushie, nurses back to sleep, sometimes she sleeps an hour, sometimes 2-3. It's all about going with the flow and adapting, all babies are different and they change so much this early on before they settle on a routine for them.
