Normal for a Mud Mask?

Sydney

Is it normal for a mud mask to feel like it's burning and your face to be bright red after you take it off?

I just did a mud mask and I was supposed to leave it on for 10 minutes. About 6 to 7 minutes in it starting having a burning sensation. I ended up taking it off a few minutes early because of that. The areas I put it on are bright red and it still feel like it's burning. It was not a "tingling" feeling like you get when "you know it's working," I can handle that. But it felt/feels like it was burning. I was looking it up on google and some people say that's normal for a mud mask?

Has this happened to you before/what do you think?
