Induction stories?

Question

My due date is 7/13 but My doctor scheduled me to be induced on the 19th if she doesn't decide to come on her own by then. 😕
Just wanted to hear some of your experiences I've always heard being induced is worse than going in naturally, which scares me. 
I'm a FTM so I have nothing to compare the experience to..

My sweet Beckham Luke is finally here!! My birth story is pretty uneventful but I wanted to share it to hopefully bring some peace of mind to nervous mommas to be. I was scheduled for an induction on July 6th, at 40+2 weeks and I was terrified, so many nerves and fear bc of all of the traumatic induction stories I had read about! I arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am and got checked in and was taken to my room around 8 am. Once in my room I changed into my gown and the nurse started going over the plan with me. She checked my cervix and I was still at 2.5 and 50%. I was then started on a slow drip of pitocin at 9 am and honestly it was nothing like I expected, I didn't even feel any contractions at this point. At 10 am my OB came in to check on me and break my water, I had progressed to a 4 and almost fully effaced in the hour since the pitocin was started. My doctor then broke my water and holy cow....I could not believe the amount of fluid that came gushing out of me!!! At this point things picked up and fast. I immediately started feeling the contractions and they began to come back to back. By 10:30 am I was in pain/tears and asked for the epidural. The anesthesiologist was in my room by 11 and administered my epidural (FYI, not a painful process, just slightly uncomfortable) and told me it could take up to 30 min to take but luckily it kicked in almost immediately and I began to feel relief from the pain. At this point I was able to relax and let my body get to work. Finally around 2:30 pm I started to feel some pain again and my nurse checked me and to my surprise I was a 10!!! I could not believe it and got so excited/nervous bc this was really happening. I told her about the pain creeping back and she said she would send the anesthesiologist back in to re-dose me because she wanted to wait 30 minutes before I started pushing to let baby drop a little further down and shorten my push time. The anesthesiologist then gave me a low re-up in my epidural and I felt some relief again. My nurse came back in a little after 3 pm and we did a couple of practices pushes and baby boy was right there so she called for my doc. My doc showed up about 5 min later and we started pushing. I could still feel pretty well, even with the epidural, and I pushed for about 5 minutes and out came my little man!!!! It was the most amazing feeling to see him and I was overwhelmed with emotion!!! They immediately placed him skin to skin and hubby cut the cord. Our sweet Beckham Luke came into the world weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and 20.25 inches long. He is pure perfection and we are so in love 💙 
My labor lasted 6.5 hours from start to finish and was so much better than I had ever imagined. Nothing traumatic, just a very smooth induction. I did not tear or require any stitches and here I am 4 days post partum and feeling great, no pain what so ever! I hope that my story will calm some mommas who are nervous about induction, epidural or just labor in general. I went natural with my son but was put on piotocin because my contractions weren't as strong when my water broke, with baby number 2 I had on July 4th I was induced due to my blood pressure being unstable, I was 1 cm dilated and they thinned my cervix with 2 rounds of cytotex. I also had to get a balloon catheter which was a little unpleasant then I went from 1 cm to 4
Cm within an hour, at which point I was placed in pitocin and went from 4 cm to 7 and they broke my water, 4 hours later I had my baby so it wasn't too bad but this was my second child

I was induced yesterday (Tuesday) started Monday night with the foleys catheter (balloon) all was well with that. It fell out about 6:45 am Tuesday, my waters were broken and the drip was started around 8am and everything happened very quickly. I did have the epidural and ended up needing it done twice (nothing to do with the induction) but once that was in I went from 3cm to 10cm in about an hour and baby was born at 1:55pm :) no tearing, so no stitches and besides a little back pain from the epidural everything is great!! It was much easier than my natural first :) good luck!!

I was induced with my second child and luckily I had a very flexible doctor. I went in at 5pm on the night of October 20th, 2008. I had an amniocentesis earlier in the day to check her lung development. When I was settled in my room, they placed cervadil in my cervix (it looked like a miniature tampon). It wasn't terribly bad, but I do wish they would've warned me that it would trigger contractions. I handled them pretty well by focusing on my breathing.  Twelve hours later they came to check my cervix and they discovered I was 4cm dilated. They put a large Foley catheter bulb in my cervix so they could get me to 5cm. Thirty minutes later, I was at 6cm. They broke my water which increased the intensity of my contractions.  I begged them to hold off on the Pitocin since I wasn't getting an epidural and I was advancing so well.  Fours hours later my sweet Kaelyn made her appearance.

I was due July 5th and am being induced tomorrow morning with baby #1! So nervous but enjoy reading others birth stories to get a somewhat piece of mind ! Thanks for sharing and good luck!

I personally didn't like being induce , it makes contractions worse I think ... if my son doesn't come soon my dr will be inducing me as well :/ good luck
