Water birth??

Hey ladies anyone here from the uk have any idea how I go about having a water birth I have mentioned it to my midwife but didn't know whether I had to book in for one or just turn up at the hospital when I'm
In labour & request one??

Before going to my hospital I am meant to call with my symptoms to see if they want me to come in yet (I am low risk) when I call I have to mention that I would like a water birth. My birthing unit has 6 pools and the ward also has one, so fingers crossed one is free for me. I am 39w4d and can't wait for baby to arrive now.

I guess all hospitals are different but at mine there are two in the MLU and one on the labour ward. The midwife will note that you want one in your notes and you just have to hope they're free when you go in to labour! When I had my tour of the MLU the other week they were both free at the time so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for when I go in (39 weeks today).
Oh and I'm in the UK btw :)
