Toddler bed age?

Hey mamas!
So my baby girl will be 16 months when #2 is due. We bought a convertible crib for her. Do we buy a new crib for the new baby and keep her in her current crib , or would we be able to buy a new toddler bed for her when baby arrives? I'm not sure how old she needs to be before she's out of the crib! Thanks!

I'm with everyone else. I am keeping my son in his crib until he figures out how to get out lol he will be 2 when our next one is born so I just bought a second inexpensive crib. Once they outgrow the cribs which convert to toddler beds we will probably just buy twin beds.

I would personally keep her in the crib as long as possible if she's not climbing out. I have 3 kids ages 5 and under and they may do well with the bed initially, but closer to age 2-2.5 they go through rebellious streaks and won't stay in the bed, with a newborn that can be a nightmare. I actually ended up not using my convertible crib,  I bought an inexpensive regular crib for my younger ones and then got a twin bed for my oldest closer to age 4 when he understood the rules and didn't try to test them. If she's climbing out of the crib then that's a safety issue and you'll need a bed or take one of the sides off the crib.

I would also keep her in for as long as possible. 
If she's not climbing out on her own then there's no need to rush her into a toddler bed.
