Just had my 20 week level 2 ultrasound and everything looked normal except for "echogenic (bright?) and enlarged kidneys" we had to talk to a genetic counselor and they basically said the only way to know if there will be a major issue is by doing an amnio. I am trying to stop googling because I instantly see fatal kidney diseases that result from findings of bright and enlarged fetal kidneys. All of my screening tests have been low risk and no other abnormalities have been found so we really don't want to do an amnio. We are due to go back every 4 weeks to check on the kidneys. I am worried sick :( has anyone had a smilie experience?
