Ryan is here!

I went to my 39 week appointment and was still at 2cm dilated. My doctor did a membrane sweep and then I went about my day. I walked around target for over an hour and then went home. I was having some mild contractions but nothing major, so I went to sleep. I woke up a couple times needing to go to the bathroom and just uncomfortable. Finally at 5am I woke up in a lot of pain so I got up and ran a warm bath. I realized my contractions were about 4 minutes apart. After about an hour, they were 2-3 minutes apart and I was in so much pain. Finally I decided I needed to get to the hospital. I got to the hospital at 9am and couldn't even stand or breathe through my contractions. I was 4cm dilated at the point, but almost 90% effaced. After about an hour or so I finally asked for an epidural. It felt fine going in and it for about two hours I felt pretty good. Then for some reason my epidural pump quit working. Within 30 minutes I was writhing in pain. They checked again and I was almost 8cm and my water was about to burst. I was in so much pain, I was just crying and begging them to let me push. Finally the doctor came in and broke my water and I started pushing. I pushed through 3 contractions and then they noticed his heart rate was dropping fast. They told me I had to push him out in the next two contractions or they would have to use the vacuum. I was in sooo much pain, but I pushed as hard as I could and pushed him out in the next contraction. I took a minute to get his lungs clear, but then he started crying and so did I. It wasn't what we expected, but he's literally perfect!
