When baby cries while you're busy, what do you do?

Question

If you're in the middle of something, say cooking dinner with raw chicken, and your baby starts crying (no one else is home), what do you do? 
Do you stop immediately and tend to baby? 
Or do you keep going and get baby within 2 minutes? Within 5 minutes? 
Or do you just finish the whole task even if it can take 5-10 minutes while your baby is crying?

It depends on what kind of crying it is. If it's just whining or attention crying, I'll go get his pacifier in his mouth when I reach a good pausing point. If it's actual real crying like there's a problem, I'd go check on him pretty quickly.

I judge based off the cry. If it's a serious cry then I go right away, just in case something is hurting her. If it's a whiny cry for no real reason I speak to her and then go within 5 mins if she doesn't settle.

I just call out to her and tell her I'll be there in a bit. Usually my voice reassures her that Im not far and buys me some time.

Unfortunately I tend to go to him rather immediately (let's say within 30-60s) 😞 not sure what it is! Ok maybe if I had raw chicken on my hands I'd get him to wait a lil longer. Anyway.. either way, I would like to wait but I just don't seem to be able to help myself

Depends how much he is fussing and for how long.

He's usually in the same room with me. I try to talk with him or use a goofy voice to distract him and make him happy. I will usually try to finish what I'm doing if he's just a little fussy, but I don't like to let him cry much.

I check on him quickly and depending on what I'm doing I try and finish  I just try to get it done quickly
