How do you feel about the separation of church and state?

Do you think it should be abolished? (This is the poll question and applies to the USA) Do you think your country should endorse one specific God and belief system, and base legislation off of Holy texts? If so, why? If you live in a country that operates thusly, what is your take on it? What would you change?
