No positive, late period

When me and my friend is late and we test together and hers comes out positive and mine didn't. I'm happy for her but now I'm bummed out and paranoid because my period is late by 8 days (last period was Jun 4) and I could have some type of unknown disease down there (that's what google said)...should I go see the doctor for a late period? (I mean it isn't normal) Or am I being extra?
