Be careful with myths!
Please, know FACTS about semen before posting myths. It's upsetting to me to see people saying myths are fact. You can cause confusion and someone can brush off something they shouldn't, causing a negative action.
Example:
Myth: when semen hits the air it dies.
Fact: Sperm do not die when they hit the air. This is a common myth! Sperm will not die if it comes in contact with air or water. It will only die if it's dried. Sperm can survive for up to 3 to 5days. All it needs is warm and moist environment.
Sperm can usually live up to seven days when they're in the cervical mucus of a woman's vagina. However, when they're not being nourished and protected by cervical mucus, vaginal secretions, the warmth and moisture of a man's urethra and reproductive tract, or other warm and moist conditions, they die anywhere between a half an hour to four hours.
If you've touched semen, it's a good idea to wash your hands, or at least wipe them off before touching the vulva or vagina.
There are 300 million sperm in one ejaculation. Only one is required for a women to get pregnant.
