Breast feeding?

Question

Does anyone else feel like they're failing?
I've had to supplement with some formula because I feel like he's starving 😭
He sucks and falls asleep on the boob, I can't get him off me to pump to help increase my supply or even drink water. 
He's not gaining weight either. 
I'm fixing to pull my hair out, I just want the best for him.

Do you have a Facebook? I joined a great group and omg I learned so much from them and now I feel I'm going to do pretty well when my son arrives. I didn't last longer than a month with my first baby granted I was only 19 so I made sure I took classes this time and joined this group Called "Milky mommas" on Facebook and have been so educated since. I'm confident this time around. Look them up and ask to join.

How long have you been breastfeeding? I supplemented using formula with my girl the first 4-5 days because my milk wasn't coming in and it helped since I knew she was "hangry" lol. There's nothing wrong with that. I let her suckle until I felt she could not suckle any more (sometimes it was hours on end and I switched from one boob to the hour) and then gave her 5-15ml of formula. My little one also fell asleep at the boob and still does (day 6 for me) because they need a lot of sleep and two, the boob is soothing for them. Stay strong, I truly know how hard it is. With my first I couldn't do it anymore and I started pumping instead since he couldn't latch. The only downside was me having to pump for 7-8 months adterwards 😩😩 good luck and again, stay strong💋

There is no shame in supplementing. I had to for a few weeks at the beginning because my milk took an ungodly amount of time to come in. My daughter lost so much weight in the hospital they barely released us. We went straight to her ped and got formula there to supplement. I was fortunate enough to have help on hand so I could pump while she took bottles and we eventually went to breastfeeding only. What has your ped suggested?

How old is baby? My son fell asleep also at first. I had to rub his head, strip him down to irritate him and wake him up, anything to keep him awake. It gets better. Their nursing triggers your supply better than pumping does. Nursing is the hardest, most stressful thing I've ever done. I had to supplement the first 4 days. You can do it momma.

I had a c section and found it super hard to maneuver baby comfortably and he too would just fall asleep. I'd get him naked, rub his feet, and nope, he just slept!
I started pumping and giving it to him and am almost two weeks in. This has been extremely difficult, as my hubby works nights. By the time I feed him and pump, I only have an hour between to sleep. I was exhausted physically and mentally and just MISERABLE.
Today, I made the decision to switch to formula. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. You have to do what is best for you and your babe. If you stress, he'll feel it too! I was formula fed and turned out justttttt fine and formula has come a long way in 28 years!! The only downside is the $$, but you have to put a value to your time and emotions as well!
