How soon did you go into labor after having a membrane sweep? Or did you not?

Feeling hopeful....had a sweep done just now at my 39 week appt and I know three people personally that went into labor the same day they got their sweep. Did it work for you? If so, how long afterwards did you go into labor? Thanks in advance!!

Well,  I hate to be the bearer of bad news 😩. I am currently 40 + 3 weeks with our third . Our other two came around 38/39 weeks all natural . At 38 weeks I had a sweep - then again at 39 ( beyond aggressive ) and again yesterday - annnnnnd I'm still pregos . Every body is different and every baby is different - nothing will work unless your body and baby are ready . We tried the sweeps before this weekend arrives bc we were trying to avoid induction . Looks like I'll need one this weekend & ( it just goes to show how different every pregnancy is ) 
It does work for a lot of women though . I've heard some women labor within hours , some have babies the same day or within 24 hrs - some it may take a few days but it helps in jumpstarting the cervix . It really just depends on your body . 🤷🏽‍♀️

I had a sweep done around 2:30-3pm on July 3rd during my app I had my baby july 4th at 3pm my last pregnancy 3 years ago I had a sweep done on Friday had my baby that Easter Sunday good luck they worked for me each time the first time

I had two with my first and it gave me contractions and stretched me a bit but didn't start labor. Had to be induced and will be again this time but I'm still going to try a sweep. Your body and your baby decide when they are ready no matter what you do or eat! It's super frustrating!

I had a sweep done Monday morning and today I believe I lost my mucus plug so I'm hoping soon or at least within the next few days that I will go into labor. I'm 38 weeks today. Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to you!

I got one at 38+2 and 39+2 but didn't go into labor until 40 weeks exactly.

Well I get it done last Wednesday and I was 1 cm dilated and went to see my midwife yesterday and got it done again. Now I'm 39 weeks 3 cm dilated lost my mucus plug completely and nothing has happened. Thank God I will get induced next Wednesday because I can't take it any more.
