Fever on 2 month old?

Is 99.5 high for a 2 month old? He got his shots yesterday.

Generally babies and children's body temperature runs a little higher than adults. That isn't even technically considered a fever just yet. Keep a close eye on your baby, give a lukewarm sponge bath or give infant Tylenol if a fever reaches 101 or higher. Watch for rash, swelling or irritation if the injection sight. Everything will be okay. My son got 4 shots at his 2 month appointment and spiked a fever of 102, and got a big lump in his leg where it was given (I believe it was the dTAP) which was incredibly scary for me. Since then I have only had them give 2 shots at a time (one in each leg) then gone back a couple weeks later for the other one(s).

A fever is usually common after shots. Did they talk to you about this when you went in? Or give you info on it?

That's normal. Mine got 103 fevers from shots
